Hello Michel,
You supported the Save Bees and Farmers citizens initiative in the past.
As you probably know, the promised pesticide reduction law did not make
it. We did get a Nature Restoration Law and a promise to better protect
water, but it all goes far too slowly. With a flawed indicator, the EU
Commission is trying to tell us that pesticide use is reduced, but in
reality, our health and biodiversity are in danger. High time to move
from the old chemical era with war against nature to a happier and
healthier era. Work with nature, reward farmers with fair prices for a
healthy product, and ban toxic pesticides. Use your voice whenever
possible, see below.

Urgent: Tell the EU you want better protection against pesticides
Pesticides are a threat to health and biodiversity, as shown in more and
more scientific papers. This is your chance to tell the EU what you
think about this topic. The EU Commission plans a 'simplification' of
regulations. This could even include new routes to have or keep harmful
pesticides on the market.
They have opened an official consultation that will be closed on October 14th.
With the tool below, you can react in a few clicks. You can get
suggestions and amend them as you wish. Click send, and your text will
be automatically fed into the consultation.
Spend a few minutes and do it now please.
Thank you!

PFAS pesticide residue in water all over Europe - slow action
Water all over Europe is polluted with TFA, a small PFAS that is the
degradation product of PFAS pesticides. They are spread on fields and
food, and many farmers are not aware, because the label doesn't say PFAS
inside. The Pesticide Action Network has been very active in exposing
the problem and calls for a ban on all PFAS pesticides to protect
health, water, food and the environment. The latest report shows that
authorities were aware of the threat to our health since 1998, but
failed to take action. The chemical industry fed them with false
narratives and tried to downplay the toxicity, until today. Read all
about it in this file.

Complaint against misleading pesticide indicator
The EU uses an indicator to measure pesticide risk. But it is highly
misleading. If a harmful pesticide replaces a much less toxic product
that is used in higher quantities, it counts as a strong reduction. If a
very toxic pesticide is banned and replaced by an equally dangerous
product, it still counts as a huge reduction. With this indicator, the
50% reduction in the use of pesticides is already there, but in reality,
it is not. Both policymakers and the general public are misled by this
communication. PAN Europe, IFOAM and Global 2000 have lodged a complaint with the European Ombudsman.

We need your support to continue pushing for Save Bees and Farmers' demands
We urgently need to reduce pesticides, and we will not be discouraged by
the industry's lobbying efforts or by the apathy of some politicians.
However, we need your help. Big or small, your donation amplifies our
voice and maximises our impact.
